Country dance or folk dance is a form of dance developed by a group of people that reflects the traditional life of a certain country or region. Folk dancing usually involves a group of happy people following dance instructions from an experienced caller. The dancers perform steps in certain formations, such as a circle or a straight line.

Folk dancing is great exercise and a fun recreational activity for people of all ages.

The club learns a variety of dances with a view to performing at the School Fair in the summer.  We have also previously performed at The Somerset Schools Folk Dancing Festival in Wells and at the May Day Fair in Marine Cove.  In September we perform for retired people at the Churches Together Holiday at Home Project.

To find out more about country dancing please see Mrs. Orledge or ask at the school office.
