LO: I can find unit fractions of amounts.

 

Today we are looking at finding unit fractions of an amount. We are looking at having an amount of something e.g. 12 sweets.

We are then looking at sharing these sweets between groups.

On the attached sheet there are 2 methods of using bar modelling to help work out the answer. One is using counters that represent one (you can you anything as counters or draw these out.) The second is using counters that represent 10 and 1s to help you divide the bigger numbers.

Your task is on the separate word document. Remember do not panic that it is fractions because this is just about dividing into groups. You’ve got this :o)
