Tonight saw the rewards of the hard work from our Year 5 children and some of our Singing club in a truly superb performance of 'The Stylist of Somerset'. The children took part in three of the songs and were enthralled by the rest of the performance by the seven brilliant professional singers / actors. Everyone agreed that it was an amazing experience from start to finish and the adults involved were an absolute hit with all the children - so entertaining and making everything a thoroughly enjoyable learning event. A huge 'thank you' must go to them from us all here.
"The OperaPLUS project brings together a team of aspiring opera singers and primary school children to create performances of classic operas, semi-staged and sung in English. In April 2015, OperaPLUS will be working on Rossini’s Barber of Seville (renamed the Stylist of Somerset) culminating in tour of five performances in four locations across the length and breadth of Somerset"(www.jackdaws.org.uk
