Trees
In Science the Year 1 children have been learning all about the different parts of a tree. We went on a simple walk around our school field identifying the different trees in our immediate environment. We were amazed at how many different trees there were. We found that the shape and size of a tree leaf can help us to identify the variety of tree it comes from.
The Year 2 children looked at how plants produce seeds and we spent time discussing how the seeds can travel around our environment (the wind may blow them, they may attach themselves to animal fur or a bird may eat them and then go to the toilet!!)
