In Art this week the children have been copying the work of a famous artist. Peter Thorpe produced some brilliant pictures associated with space, many involving rockets. The children worked over two weeks to produce an imaginative background and bright vibrant rocket to go on top. They started by dipping unusual objects into paint (clothes pegs, cork, lego) before printing them onto black sugar paper. They then used pastels to colour in a rocket template, sticking it onto their background. The pictures look amazing and really brighten up the classroom!
