Eid ul Adha falls on the tenth day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah. It is the second most important festival Muslims celebrate after Eid ul Fitr. This year, Eid ul Adha will be celebrated in India on June 17, 2024. It is an important occasion for all Muslims worldwide.Inaya was very excited about showing us her Henna patterns.
As part of our RE work on other religions, we invited Aaraf's mum in to tell us about the 'Islamic Faith' and life as a muslim. She also brought in a prayer mat to show us.
Rosa - You have to wash before you put the prayer mat out
Alec - Muslims have to pray 5 times a day but men and women don't pray in the same room
Rory - The arrow on the prayer mat always points to Mecca
Rosa - When you pray you have to kneel down and put your head on the floor
