Last week saw the final Area Cross Country of the year held at The King Alfred School in Burnham-on-Sea. A local venue gave many children from St Joseph's another opportunity to compete against children from all over the Sedgemoor Area and I have to say I was quite simply amazed with the uptake! We had in total 68 children from our Key Stage 2 classes (that's over 50%) and the children were just magnificent! The course was flat, but long and all of the children raced extremely hard and with real determination! This was a great St Joseph's team effort with everyone that competed earning points for the St Joseph's team total. After the first couple of races the school was sitting in 4th place but after such a huge combined effort .....who knows where we will finish in the final standings. One thing is for sure, the children should be really proud of their efforts last week......JUST BRILLIANT!!!
