Today is 'Diwali', the Hindu festival of lights. Our reception children made their own candles to shine light while the year 1 chidlren coloured rangoli patterns.
Today we used the magnifying glass to look carefully at the old and new pictures. We had to say what we could see and look at each others pictures so we could match the past and present pictures. We also had great fun looking at how big each others eyes were!
We had lots of fun in the sunshine using the chalks to draw our pictures.
Today in maths we played a game to see who could get the most spots for their ladybird. There was lots of counting involved from subitising the dots on the dice, to choosing the correct number of spots to put on our ladybird and then finally counting the total number to see who's ladybird had the most.
Past and Present - Today we looked at different pictures of things in the past and present. We sorted them into two different circles. Mrs Williams had to explain some of the pictures to us. We didn't know what a typewriter was and we'd never seen a telephone like that before. They looked very old!
