St Joseph'sCatholic Primary & Nursery School

Spring

What a lovely day we had celebrating St Joseph’s day. The sun shone for our Lent walk and we loved taking part in the yr 6 games.

We had great fun helping Mrs Williams to celebrate St. Patricks Day! We made Irish crtowns and cards for our family. We also had fun dressing up!

Art - we had fun with clay this afternoon. The reception children explored the clay and the year one children made pinch pots and decorated them. Everyone enjoyed themselves and listened really carefully.

Art - We have been using our hands as tools to shape clay. We then used tools to create different marks.

World book day - What a wonderful day we’ve had. We started with surprise stories then did some work on Norman the snail with the silly shell. We created our own shells for Norman. We finished by sharing our favourite books with year 5.;

National Storytelling Week runs from Monday February 2nd to Sunday February 8th, 2026. To celebrate this we were lucky to take part i9n a workshop today. This year's theme is the 'Soundtraack to Your Story' celebrating music, the music we dance to, through British Sign Language/ Makaton and the rhythms we feel, the soundscapes of everyday life, or the soundtracks we hear in films and games. We had lot's of fun taking part!

Art - Creating a collage using our textured prints

We looked at the properties of 3d shapes. These included cylinders, cubes, cuboids, pyramids and spheres. We counted the edges and faces and labelled them.

We are creating collages with our textured prints.
