  • Cross Country Team Move up to Second Place!

    Fri 24 Oct 2014
After a huge turn out of children in the latest inter school cross country, I'm happy to report that St Joseph's have moved from 5th position up to 2nd in the overall standings. They are currently 25 points behind leaders Enmore and a similar distance above local rivals St Andrew's who sit in 3rd place. With one more race to go, we are in a really good position to mount one last effort to catch the leaders! Keep up the good work!
  • Friendly Tournament a huge success for our Tag Rugby team

    Wed 22 Oct 2014
A team of ten girls and boys from Years 5 and 6 represented St Joseph's today in a friendly Tag Rugby tournament held at North Petherton Rugby Club. For many of the children this was a new experience and the first time they had played Tag Rugby competitively and all of them performed incredibly well. The team won a couple of games and lost a couple, but they all seemed to enjoy the experience and played with real passion and determination. The future looks bright regarding this sport and I look forward to next months competition where the school is looking to send 3 teams of ten.
  • Record Turn Out At Latest Cross Country

    Thu 16 Oct 2014
On Wednesday afternoon over 50 children from St Joseph's competed in the latest inter-school cross country held at The King Alfred School. There were representatives for all age groups from Year 3 all the way up to the oldest Year 6 children. Weather conditions were perfect for cross country running as the children braved the elements and battled hard for positions! There were of course a number of children who won medals and their gallant efforts should not be forgotten, however this weeks write up will focus more on the overall efforts of the team. Many children run regularly in these cross country events and although they do not finish in the top twenty positions their effort and determination to represent the school and compete as part of a team is highly commended and needs to be highlighted in the same light as our medal winners -You all know who you are! Well done team St Joseph's!!!!!
  • Boys Football Team Reach Area Finals

    Tue 14 Oct 2014
A huge well done to our boys football team who competed yesterday in the ESFA competition. The boys finished unbeaten, winning against Westover Green (2-0) and Berrow (1-0) and drawing against Eastover (0-0) and Bridgwater College Academy (1-1). The boys will now compete in the Sedgemoor area finals as they battle it out for a place in the prestigious County event. Well done boys, a great all round performance.
