Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Another week of sporting success for the children of St Joseph's! This week it was the turn of our girls and boys cricket teams! An area competition held at Wembdon Cricket Club always draws in the crowds and the fine weather ensured that the event was incredibly well attended by schools from around the area.
First up were our boys who were amazing, winning two of their games and losing two! Out of the six teams in their pool they finished a very credible 4th place, just losing out on 3rd place due to run rate!
The girls were also magnificent and remained unbeaten across the whole competition! Their batting, bowling and fielding was phenomenal and the winning result secures them a place representing the area (and our school) in the prestigious County Finals next month!
Overall this was another great St Joseph's performance. Well done to everyone who represented the school today.....you were all brilliant!
A huge well done to the children from Year 5 and 6 who represented the school this week in this year's Area Swimming Gala. Travelling all the way to Chilton Trinity Sports Centre (1610) to compete against the best swimmers in the area, the team of 21 children were just remarkable! Individual and relay performances were just brilliant but I was most impressed with the sense of team spirit throughout the competition. In my 28 years at the school we have never won an Area Gala and this year was the closest we have ever got; a magnificent 2nd place and just one point behind the winners!!! Well done Team St Joseph's!
