• St Joseph's Embrace Final Cross Country of the Season

  A huge turn-out of more than 45 children from Key Stage 2 meant that St Joseph's was once again a force to be reckoned with in the last and final cross country meeting of the year! With children taking part of all abilities it was great to see the level of effort, determination and spirit displayed by everyone running. We of course had some medallists but just to reiterate, this competition is all about the team and everyone who participates earns us points. As a teacher I couldn't have been happier. Well done to everyone who raced........truly amazing!!!!

• Key Stage 2 Gymnasts Make County Finals

  A huge well done to the Year 3/4 gymnastics team who recently competed in the Sedgemoor area finals. A fantastic team display saw the team of six boys and girls conquer all and win the overall competition. As a result of this brilliant performance, the team will now represent both the area and the school in the prestigious County Finals due to take place at the end of April in Yeovil. We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing about their progress.

• Highbridge Festival

  Children from St Joseph's School have been wowing the judges at the Highbridge Festival 2018.

   

  On Monday 12th March 2018 

   

  Monday's performers list is endless, with Francesca Strong and Isabelle Dyer won medals for both solo and duet piano pieces and Frazer Broadway and Francesca Strong winning the Elena Cobb Duets and Trios. In fact Frazer scouped no less than three different Medals in the Piano category.

   

   

  In the music category on Tuesday morning 13th March. St Josephs recorder group came 2nd in there category with barely a mark between the groups competing. 

   

  Other winning competitors in the music categories where Seth Barnshaw, Woodie Crook, Will Harris, Francesca Strong and Frazer Broadway all taking medals in the Instrumental Beginners class.

   

  Recorder Solos were won by Millie Strong and Lucy Falber, whilst the Instrumental Duet Adult and Child gained Harriet Hobbs and Lillie Hannett medals.

• Futsal team finish 3rd in Area Finals

  Well, what can I say? After a rather heavy defeat in their opening game of this competition, the Year 4/5 Futsal team showed real spirit and determination to finish 3rd. The remaining three games saw them victorious against St Mary's (4-2), Eastover (2-1) and a 2-2 draw against Somerset Bridge. A great performance from all the team!

  

• Key Stage 1 Gymnasts Finish 3rd in Area Finals

  A huge well done to our Key Stage 1 Gymnastics team who finished 3rd place in the Area Gymnastics competition held at St Joseph's, Bridgwater on Monday morning. The team were extremely brave performing a short routine that they were scored on by an official judge. All individual scores were then combined to give an overall team score placing us 3rd overall. A special mention must go to Nayla and Grace who were both awarded a top three finish for their individual performances in the competition. Well done to all the children that competed. The school is very proud of you.

• Cross Country Stars At It Again

  Around 25 Junior children from St Joseph's braved the elements once again in this months Cross Country held at Brymore school, Cannington.  The course is slightly more rural and adventurous than the usual football or rugby pitches that the children are use to running around. However, this did not seem to deter of effect any of the St Joseph performances. Another great team effort with every single athlete earning points for the team. There were of course a few individual medal winners (Kobe, Harriet and James) but the biggest mention must once again go to Team St Joseph's who are currently in second place behind Enmore with just one race left in the series! Well done to everyone who was part of this team.

• St Joseph's Gymnasts Reach Area Finals

  A huge well done to our Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 gymnastics teams who were both victorious in the preliminary rounds of the Key Steps Gymnastics Competition. Competing against teams from Burnham Infants, St Andrew's and Churchfields, I am happy to say that both teams are now through to the Area Finals being held at St Joseph's in Bridgwater later in the month. Well done to everyone who took part and good luck to the children selected for the finals.
