  • Donation of money raised from KS1 and KS2 Christmas Performances

    Wed 31 Jan 2018

The collections made at the KS1 Christmas Nativity and the KS2 Carol Concert raised an amazing £300. We decided this year to donate the money to help refurbish the school/games room on 'Oak Ward' which is part of the children's unit at Musgrove Park Hospital. This is a charity close to the heart of Mel Bax, our gymnastics teacher, whose son Joe was cared for there.

Thank you all for your kind donations.

  • Swimming Gala Success

Mon 22 Jan 2018 Mr Fisher

A huge well done to the 18 girls and boys from Year 5 and 6 who represented the school in a local swimming gala. The children were magnificent as they competed against primary schools from Wembdon, Brent Knoll and Wollavington. The children swam with effort, determination and the team spirit was electrifying. Although there were many individual successes, the team finished the competition as outright winners. Well done to everyone who took part.

  • St Joseph's Host Year 3/4 Girls' Football Festival

Thu 18 Jan 2018 Mr Fisher
This afternoon St Joseph's was host to an area football festival for Year 3/4 Girls from many of the local surrounding schools. We were joined by players from Churchfield, St Andrew's and Berrow. The Girls started with a simple warm up that involved plenty of dribbling and stretching before they moved onto some simple ball mastery. For the second half of the session the girls were grouped into four small teams and we played a fast moving carousel of matches. Great fun was had by all, including the teachers!
