Well, what can I say other than .....JUST AMAZING!!!!!
Yesterday afternoon a team of ten girls from Years 4, 5 and 6 travelled all the way to Robert Blake School, Bridgwater to compete in the ESFA Sedgemoor Area Football Finals. Having already won our opening matches in the preliminary rounds the girls were extremely excited about playing against the best schools in the Sedgemoor area - all of which had won their preliminary matches in the competition. This is probably the toughest round to progress through as the winners are asked to represent the area in the prestigious County Finals held in January.
Anyway, the girls competed in three matched (each match was 10 minutes each way) and after wins against Eastover (2-1), Kingsmoor (3-1) and Somerset Bridge (2-1), St Joseph's finished the competition unbeaten as Area Champions and will now progress to the County Finals early next year. Every single member of the teams played with passion, determination and the team effort was just outstanding. WELL DONE GIRLS and we look forward to the County Finals in January!
Today, Wednesday 24th October, the children had a special themed lunch.
Angela and Alison prepared a treasure chest of treats for our Talk like a Pirate lunch.
Thank you all so much for your kind donations of cakes for the cake sale last Friday.
We raised a fantastic £348 for MacMillan Cancer Support thanks to your generosity with both the cake sale and the Non School Uniform donations.
The staff 'Bake Off' went well with 1st place going to Miss Kelly for her Bakewell Cake with a fruity jam filling, drizzle iced and topped with toasted almonds, 2nd place to Miss Bishop who made St Clements Cup Cakes topped with a Terry's Chocolate Orange Slice and 3rd was Angela's Carrot Cake with Walnut butter icing topped with chopped walnuts. The winners received a prestigious glitter and ribbon decorated wooden spoon.
The Staff and Children enjoyed a cake filled day. Thank you once again, we could not have raised this amount without your help.
MacMillan Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning 28th Sept 2018
Dear Parents
On Friday 28th September we are planning to hold a Macmillan Cake Sale in support of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise money for the charity.
We therefore would appreciate if anyone could bake or supply cakes to help raise money. The Children on this day will be able to wear their own clothes ‘with a dash of green-the MacMillan Colours’ for a contribution of £1 per family. Please take your £1 in cash to a class teacher. For this they will be given a cake each during the morning, then any cakes leftover will be available for parents to buy from 2.45 onwards. Consequently the more cakes we have the better!
Cakes could be brought in on the Thursday or Friday morning and taken to the DT room.
If you have any queries then please ask Mr Lawrence or at the office.
