Plans for Emergency Closure of the School 2014/15
Now that winter is well and truly underway, we thought it would be useful to outline the procedures in place for any school closures during extreme weather conditions.
It is the intention to keep the school open unless there are severe weather conditions i.e. snow or insufficient heating. During spells of extremely wet/snowy weather please send your children with Wellington boots (to be changed in school) and warm clothing.
Should we experience icy or snowy conditions, every effort will be made to clear or de-ice the main entrances and footpaths into the buildings. Once in school pupils will be kept for the whole school day, unless conditions deteriorate. It is important that you are aware of the following ways we intend to communicate any school closures to you.
Texting - we can text you as long as we have your up to date mobile phone number.

The Year 5 boys of St Joseph's put on an impressive footballing display after school today as they beat Eastover school 4-1. With the score 1-0 at half time the boys moved into another gear in the second half scoring three more goals and running away with the victory. A huge well done to the nine boys who were involved. We look forwards to hearing how you get on in next months Futsal tournament!
The Singing Club today enjoyed their visit to 'The Towans' to help them start their Christmas festivities in the home. They sang a mixture of fun Christmas songs and some traditional carols. The residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and joined in with many of the songs.
We would like to invite you to our Christmas 'Tea at Two' at 2pm on Thursday 4th December in the school hall.
Come and listen to our fabulous orchestra whilst taking refreshments at our Cafe. There will be a raffle with great prizes and a tombola stall for the children.
You can join in the Christmas quiz and even purchase your Reindeer ready for your Christmas Eve visit!!
If you would like to donate either cakes or raffle prizes or even help on a stall please let the school office know. Any donations to the office by the morning of the 4th December please.
Merry Christmas from the Friends of St Joseph's
