  • Girl's Football Team Finish 3rd in ESFA Area Finals

Fri 04 Oct 2019 Mr Fisher
A huge well done to our Girl's Football team who travelled all the way to Bridgwater College yesterday to compete in the ESFA Area tournament. Competing against twelve other teams from around the Sedgemoor area, the girls were absolutely magnificent! Finishing second in their group of six, the ten girls went on to compete in the 3rd/4th place play off and capped off the day with a medal!!!! With the majority of the team made up of Year 4 and 5 children, this is a remarkable achievement with most other school playing teams of just Year 6. Three wins, two draws and just the one loss is just brilliant and a great way to start the season.....WELL DONE GIRLS!!!

  • Macmillan Cake Sale and Non School Uniform Day

    Tue 01 Oct 2019

Thank you all so much for your kind donations of cakes for the cake sale last Friday.

We raised a fantastic £333 for MacMillan Cancer Support thanks to your generosity with both the cake sale and the Non School Uniform donations.

The staff 'Bake Off' went well with a joint 1st place going to Alison  (Assistant Cook) and Nathaniel (Angela, our cooks son) . Alison baked a sticky toffee pudding cake which was decorated with a white icing and a sticky toffee drizzle with fudge pieces.  Nathaniel made a Mars Bar cake topped with a thick chocolate layer and small pieces of mars bar on the top. The winners received a prestigious ribbon decorated wooden spoon.

The Staff and Children enjoyed a cake filled day. Thank you once again, we could not have raised this amount without your help.

  • Tennis Superstars are 7th Best in the County!

Mon 08 Jul 2019 Mr Fisher
A huge well done to the Year 3/4  tennis team who travelled to Millfield on Friday to compete in the Somerset School Games Tennis Finals. Representing both our school and the Sedgemoor Area, the team which is made up of two girls and two boys competed against the best tennis players in the County! Playing a total of 20 games between them, the children were hugely successful winning 13, drawing one and losing just 6 games over the course of the day. With many of the School Games values on display, the team should be really proud of what they have achieved. To be crowned the 7th best school at tennis in Somerset is just brilliant when you consider there are over 400 schools across the County! Well done all four of you!!
  • Monday 8th July - Non School Uniform Day

    Mon 08 Jul 2019
On Monday 8th July there will be a Non-School Uniform Day. The idea is that the children wear their own clothes to school in return for bringing in a full bottle for the Friends of St Joseph's Fete Bottle Stall, which is on Friday 12th July from 3-5pm. Support for this would be very much appreciated. Just a reminder that raffle tickets have now gone out to all families and tokens (which can be used at the fete instead of cash) are being sold in the playground at the start and end of the day until the Fete.
  • Sports Day 2019

Fri 28 Jun 2019 Mr Fisher
Well, the weather was kind to us and the children seemed to enjoy themselves. The flat races were fast and the relay races competitive. The afternoon's activities gave the children a chance to show off their agility, throwing and ball juggling skills! Well done to everyone who took part and a huge well done to the red team (St Luke) who were this years winners.
