  • KEY STAGE 1 GYMNASTS THROUGH TO COUNTY FINALS

    Wed 15 Mar 2017

A huge well done to our talented Key Stage 1 gymnasts who competed in the Key Steps Gymnastics Area Finals on Monday. The team of eleven girls travelled all the way to Haygrove School in Bridgwater where they competed against St Mary's, Westonzoyland and Nether Stowey. Working in two teams of five and six, the girls had to complete a short gymnastics sequence and were scored accordingly. Their team scores were then combined and positions were announced at the end of the competition. I'm extremely happy to say that our two teams finished in both first and second place and will now go forward to represent both the school and Sedgemoor area in the prestigious School Games County Finals that are being held in April in Yeovil. Well done girls, you were amazing!!!!!

  • Gymnasts Reach Sedgemoor Area Finals

    Thu 09 Mar 2017
A huge well done to our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gymnasts who have been magnificent this week competing in a local competition. The teams comprising of twenty four children had to perform a short gymnastic routine as well as a vault against representatives from St Andrew's and Churchfield. They were scored in a competitive manner and I'm happy to say that eighteen members of the team have progressed and will now compete in the Sedgemoor Area Finals which is being held later this month at Haygrove school in Bridgwater. A huge well done to all the children who took part - You were amazing!

  • Futsal Team narrowly miss out in Sedgemoor Area Finals

    Thu 09 Mar 2017
Our Futsal team finished in a credible 2nd place on Monday night! Playing three matches against the best teams in the Sedgemoor area, the boys won their first two games against Somerset Bridge (5-4) and North Petherton (2-1) before losing their final game with a last minute goal against Eastover (2-1). With three of the four teams all drawing on 6 points, the results went down to goal difference - All three teams were tied on this as well so the final result was determined by the number of goals scored and sadly Somerset Bridge had scored more than us and were crowned champions. Disappointing for the team, but the boys should hold their heads high after playing some great football at a very high level. Well done all.

The children were a credit to both themselves and the school. They never gave up and finished every event with passion, determination and a huge amount of team spirit. JUST FANTASTIC!!
